They featured a rider named Eric Vanhala (spelling?). He was a big guy whom I think Ned Overend discovered and signed him on the Specialized team. This Eric guy was supposed to be the next big thing in the mountain biking world. What happened to this guy? Was he a huge disappointment? Where is he?

Need Help Finding Shoes For Mountain Biking?
Posted by: sporty in Articles on January 27th, 2010
I’ve broke 4 shoelaces since the start of year mountain biking. I need to find a pair of shoes that I can wear mountain biking, without laces. Vans and converse slipons seem a bit flimsy, any other suggestions. Right now I have been wearing skate shoes without laces, and I tried Doc Martens but the laces broke two fast. Now they don’t have shoelaces. Any suggestions, I’ve trying tucking the laces in, and double knotting, yet trail side branches, and rubbing next to the gears and chain, break them quickly, or if they don’t the next time I wear the shoes the laces break when I’m at work or out and about. It’s really embarrasing to have to finish what i’m doing and then find shoelaces. Anyone else with this problem?

Posted by: sporty in Q&A on January 20th, 2010
I’ve gone hiking before, but it’s been a few years. So I was wondering what would be some good clothes and shoes to wear? It will be in Vermont. So the weather is suppose to be partly sunny and low 60’s, on the ground at least, up on the mountain it will be a bit colder I imagine. So what would be the best stuff to wear?
