Recently, I bought a pair of Vasque Gore-Tex hiking/backpacking boots for my upcoming trip to Philmont, New Mexico for a Boy Scout trip. How do I know when they are broken in? I have been wearing them around town and the house for about 3 days.

I have a mountain bike that has front and rear v-brakes. Is it better to have them looser so that they wont lock-up and cause skidding? Or is it better to have them tight so you can stop faster? THANKS

I go trail running pretty frequently and my sneakers create holes in the back of my socks. After about two hours of trail running up and down hills and hiking I get holes in my sock about where my achilles tendon is. I’m wearing mid calf socks. Is there something I can do to prevent this?
